Can you recommend any places for the good citizens of LA to Volunteer on Thanksgiving Day? I want to give back to the community, and my family is having our Thanksgiving a day later.
You’d be surprised to know that Thanksgiving is actually a very popular day to volunteer. Many organizations are have already filled their volunteer needs on Thanksgiving. But, please don’t give up! Below are organizations you can check out – and if not on Thursday – keep going and pick another day – you’ll be happy you did!!!

Food on Foot operates a weekly meal program every Sunday, as well as Thanksgiving, in Hollywood. Sign up at their web site to volunteer.

The Los Angeles Mission has many volunteer opportunities, including donations, and meal service. They have reached their volunteer goals for Thanksgiving Day, but are eager for volunteers other days. Go to their web site to sign up for their volunteer orientation.

Volunteers are needed to donate food, work in the pantry, pack bags, and help unload trucks Monday through Friday mornings.
