Dining options…

Ask the Yenta

Wow!  Okay, so all three questions this week are about restaurant for specific occasions.

1)   From a 20-something guy wanting a restaurant for a first date in Hollywood – not romantic, but cool/hip/fun, and not too expensive.

2)   From a man wanting to take his sister out for a birthday dinner, emphasis on FUN.
3)   From a woman wanting to take her mother out for a really special lunch.

Fun date restaurants that won’t put a hole in your wallet.<div”>

Miceli’s – old-style Italian food where the waiters and waitresses sing, and we’re not talking karaoke — they can really sing!! (locations in Hollywood and Universal City, Cahuenga Blvd)

U-Wink – basic menu but the fun part is ordering on the touchscreen monitor at your table, PLUS you can play games, do trivia, and sip a cocktail!  (Hollywood at Hollywood and Highland)

The Great Greek – a long time favorite on Ventura Blvd. Yummy food, and they might pull you out of your seat to dance around the restaurant. Opa!! (Sherman Oaks)

Gyu-Kaku – Japanese BBQ where you cook the food yourself at the table, plus they often have great happy hour specials. (Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Sherman Oaks, Topanga Canyon)

Lunch with Mom

The Beverly Hills Hotel Polo Lounge – for the old Hollywood thing (Beverly Hills)

On the top of Barney’s New York is Barney’s Greengrass lunch and shop?!! (Beverly Hills)

Craft – lunch fit for a foodie. Note: lunch only during the week (Century City)

Spago – no explanation needed (Beverly Hills
